When you have a rich text file, where you can grab images and embed them in the file, do you prefer that the file actually live _in_ the file (like (libre)office's files), or do you prefer it to live in a folder next to it ?

@Miaourt From a writer's perspective, I GREATLY prefer the first!! One nice easy portable file you can drag/drop into google drive without zipping everything

But from a technical perspective where docs might be under version control, i'd prefer the second?

@toffy @Miaourt I use it kinda in the same way as you do. Depends which kind of document then: architecture or process documentation, we use versioning so images are aside. Presentation with demo, we use the single portable file.
